(FCB) What a wonderful Thanksgiving! Always nice to take a moment to stop & remember all that you are thankful for. Also nice to spend the day celebrating the idea of being thankful! I'm so thankful for all of my family & friends! Today, not yesterday, is officially Black Friday. That's why I named today's strip the Essentially Belated Black Friday Special. Since some stores made the choice to start Black Friday a day early on Thursday, this strip published on the correct date, technically could be considered belated. That's about as 'political' as you will ever see me get in one of my blurbs for this comic strip. :) Enjoy the real Black Friday today everyone! (F... G... R...) Happy Thanksgiving! I'm very thankful for all of my family & friends. I'm thankful for the opportunity to do this comic strip featuring my all-time favorite pro wrestler Jimmy Valiant. I'm thankful for all the readers. I'm thankful for all the many blessings in my life! I'm looking forward to a fun day celebrating thankfulness & remembering all the wonderful things I have to be thankful for! (EMAM) Thanksgiving Season is here! I really enjoy holidays in general, but one of my favorites has to be Thanksgiving. I love eating no matter what time of year it is. & I always enjoy watching & playing football during football season. I also really enjoy getting together w/family & friends. So it makes sense that I love celebrating on Thanksgiving Day by doing all those things. When you throw in Thanksgiving specific activities like watching the Macy's parade, Thanksgiving cartoons & reliving past wresting events that are specific to the holiday such as Starrcade & Survivor Series, it becomes a really awesome day & one of my fave holidays of all. It was nice continuing the tradition of a Boogieland Thanksgiving-themed storyline. Starting this Thurs. though, there will be a new storyline which will have a serious impact on this comic strip series. Be back Thursday for that. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Season! (ELD) Happy Birthday Eve to my pal & sometimes bodyguard, Magnet Man aka Big M. It's an honor to share a birthday w/you dude! I also have great memories of sharing a birthday w/my Aunt Lois. She was such a wonderful person. I always loved talking to her. Also, while it wasn't the exact same day, I can still remember sharing a birthday party w/her brother Preston, my grandfather, who we called PaPa. He was a great man. Even though he passed away when I was fairly young, I'm thankful that I still have fond memories of sitting in his lap, talking to him, celebrating different holidays & special events & just going to eat & visit on a Sunday afternoon. (TLAL) Another milestone reached for the Boogieland or Bust comic strip! It seems slightly strange to celebrate reaching another hundred strips after celebrating reaching one-thousand, but i'm still happy for the accomplishment. I hope you have all enjoyed all 1,100 strips & if you haven't read all of them yet, I highly recommend going back & checking out the archives. As far as fantasy football goes, this week was a perfect example that real life is way more important than who gets you more points in your fantasy game. Here's wishing Emmanuel Sanders a quick recovery from the injury he suffered in last night's game. I haven't done the math, but I'm thinking My The Jimmy Valiants team are pretty much eliminated from any chance of making my fantasy league playoffs after a tough loss this week. So here's where things stand for my The Jimmy Valiants fantasy football team. We are currently down by a little less than 6 points. My team & my opponent both have one player left to play tonight. They have a kicker & I have a wide receiver. The wide receiver will usually win that battle, but certainly not always. Especially considering they are up by almost 6 points, so if I do win it will be a big comeback. I'm technically projected to win by less than one point, which shows how close it's supposed to be.
