Well, it's hard to believe that football season has already started. I'm very proud of my son Douglas for all the hard work he puts into the sport that he loves most. Douglas works very hard at every practice & plays hard in every game. I hope he & his teammates have a safe & victorious season. They are off to a good start w/a 2-0 record so far! Go Forest Red! Go #12! Meanwhile in the Boogieland strip, Magnet Man's hopes are dropping fast both literally & figuratively! I'm very thankful for a fun, safe trip to the beach w/my family. It's nice to be home & back in the swing of things too though. I had a wonderful time at camp yesterday & enjoyed spending time w/my BWC Family. I have included a picture below to show a real life example of what MM's trip through the air in the BWC "office" might have looked like. The photo was taken by Jimmy Jannetty, who then wrote me a ticket for posing for a picture w/out a modeling license. Oh well. Well, here we are at the beginning of another fun Boogieland or Bust storyline! I've actually lost count of how many different storylines I've done since I started this comic strip & I'm too lazy to bother counting them right now, but there have been a bunch! & now here is another all new adventure! Speaking of adventures, I am currently enjoying a nice vacation of my own at the beach w/my family! I can't think of a better way to finish out the final days of summer! Life is good. But things might not be quite as relaxing or quite as good for Magnet Man. Stay tuned to find out why! Today is an exciting day for Rock N Roll! If you are in Central VA, or the surrounding areas, then you too can come to Lynchburg City Stadium to see the debut of one of the coolest bands ever! Jenny & the B-Side Rockers, featuring my nephew Scotty B on lead guitar, will play their first show tonight at 6pm, just prior to the baseball game at Calvin Falwell Field. I will be there cheering on my nephew & his bandmates & I hope to see you there too! If you can't make it out tonight, you can still see Scotty B perform as a solo act at this year's BWC Graduation on Sept. 8th! It's been a great week or so for birthdays! My nephew Scotty B started things off by celebrating his 20th birthday on Sat. the 3rd. Then Boogie & Angel had a birthday bash on the 4th. Boogie's real birthday took place on the 6th. Then on the 8th, Douglas had an awesome Shark Boy pool party! & yesterday was Angel's actual birthday, so we wish her & all the recent birthday people a very happy birthday & many more to come! The Planet James storyline has more or less concluded, but we will have a special epilogue coming up this Thursday. Don't miss it! Today is a very special day for me. It is the 13th anniversary of my marriage to my beautiful, wonderful wife Gala. It has been an amazing 13 years & we have shared an incredible journey together! Every day w/Gala is a blessing! Happy Anniversary Beautiful! Today is also exciting because my son Douglas will be having his Shark Boy Birthday party tonight. I can't wait to climb to the top rope, count to 9 & then take a big bite out of that Shark Boy cake! Well, maybe I'll just use a fork like everybody else. Douglas' actual birthday isn't until later in the month, but since we'll be out of town, he's having the party today w/his friends! I can't wait! Happy Birthday Douglas! I love you & I'm very proud of you! & the third thing that makes this day special of course is the new Boogieland or Bust comic strip! I had a wonderful time yesterday at BWC & after camp at K&W restaurant as the BWC family celebrated Boogie & Angel's upcoming birthdays! Thank you Janice for organizing this event for the third fun year! It was a blast! I hope Boogie & Angel have a very nice time together celebrating Boogie's birthday tomorrow & Angel's big day on the 11th! Happy Birthday to two of my favorite people! Welcome to August! The fact that we are well into the second half of the year is amazing to me! Where does the time go? Oh well, I guess I can't complain. I've done a lot of fun & exciting things this year, so even though the time is flying, at least I've gotten my enjoyment out of it! Also, when I look back on the majority of 2013, I feel pleased w/how productive I have been on this comic, this website & w/other projects. Still, I shouldn't be talking like New Years is right around the corner. Plenty of the year left to enjoy & I plan on getting a lot more done along the way.
