Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I am so thankful for so many things that I've been blessed w/. I'm thankful for my family & friends, my health, my existence, & way too much to ever list. I'm especially thankful for my beautiful, wonderful wife Gala & my precious, special, super awesome son Douglas. I'm also very thankful for the opportunity to do this Boogieland strip every Monday & Thursday & for each & every one of the Boogieland or Bust readers! I'm thankful for my friendship w/Boogie & Angel & I'm thankful for BWC & my BWC Family! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Today my son Douglas has his big end of season Football Banquet to conclude his fourth season of playing on a real football team. I have been playing football against him longer than anyone else. We've had classic football battles on our sidewalk, in the hallway, in the living room, in various yards, the Y soccer field, the beach, BWC & so many more impromptu gridirons. So I'm so proud that he has turned that fantasy, that longtime dream, into a reality. It was only possible through hard work & a passion for the game. Great job for all that you've accomplished w/the Forest Black & Forest Red teams these past four years! This Thursday is Thanksgiving & that means we get to enjoy all the traditional traditions. I hope reading the annual Thanksgiving-themed Boogieland storyline will be a tradition to keep for you & your family this Turkey Day! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care!
So Thanksgiving is just a week away, but we still have time for a short Thanksgiving storyline. I don't know about you, but for me, it just wouldn't be Thanksgiving w/out a challenge from Turkeypedo & Brrugchakoo! Looks like the challenge has been accepted! Be back this Monday, Nov. 24th to see what happens next! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! While the big day may still be a little while away, Thanksgiving season is definitely here! As I got closer to Boogieland strip #417, I thought about the fact that 417 is 714 backwards. '714' of course is the name of one of Boogie's hit songs. That gave me the idea to do some kind of story where the '714' record gets played backwards to reveal a hidden message. The fact that we are so close to Thanksgiving helped decide exactly what the message would be. So that's basically how my mind works. I'm very happy w/the resulting strip & I hope you are too! I've included the '714' music video below for your enjoyment! Be back this Thursday for the start of another Thanksgiving themed storyline! Don't miss it! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care! Well, that wraps up (pun intended) the King Talkelot storyline. Of course I couldn't resist referencing one of my all time favorite Scooby Doo episodes. Tomorrow is a special day for me because it is my birthday. So Happy Birthday Eve to myself! Thanksgiving is right around the corner too, which means not one, but two Boogieland Thanksgiving Specials, beginning w/a one shot this Monday & followed by a quick story that will run until Thanksgiving Day itself. Should be fun! Don't miss it! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Some background on today's strip. First of all, any Poe fans out there should know that this strip's title comes from the Poe story 'Some Words W/A Mummy.' The name 'King Talkelot' is a slightly altered version of actual pharaoh King Takelot who I really know nothing about. I just came across his name when I searched for Egyptian Pharaohs & it seemed like a good fit w/the slight alteration. & the reference to being buried alive then coming back as a mummy came from the El Santo movie 'Santo en la Venganza De La Momia.' So there's a little Boogieland comic strip trivia for you. Be back for more w/Boogie, MM & the mummy this Thurs., in the next exciting installment of King Talkelot storyline! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care!
It's Thursday, which means a couple good things for me. First, it means I get to do my weekly reading at my son's school which is always fun. Second, of course, it means there's another exciting Boogieland strip up! I'm still really enjoying myself as I bring you the imaginary comic strip adventures of Boogie, MM & BWC every Mon. & Thurs.! Be back Mon. for more Boogieland fun! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. November is here! Welcome to November! For me that means a birthday about halfway through the month & Thanksgiving near the month's end. I'm looking forward to both, but for now I'm still in a spooky mood so I'm going to squeeze in one more spooky storyline! Be back this Thurs. for the next exciting installment as we meet King Talkelot! Don't miss it! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care!
Well, we've had a long Halloween storyline & now a three part Day of the Dead storyline but now they are both finished. That doesn't mean we are quite done bringing the spooky yet. Tomorrow we'll be back on track w/the regular Monday & Thursday schedule & there may just be a creepy new character wandering around Boogieland. I still find it hard to believe we are this far through the year, but I am enjoying the fall colors & weather. Be back tomorrow for more Boogieland comic strip fun! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care!
