Today's strip is dedicated to the memory of a lost family member. Poem, our precious White-Capped Pionus, passed away this past Monday. Poem was a gift from my wife Gala before we were married. He was my roommate in my first apartment after moving out on my own. Poem spent a lot of time riding on my shoulder & just hanging out w/me. I taught him how to say 'Pretty Bird' which became his nickname. He loved eating crackers & enjoyed being petted & getting kisses from his Daddy. Poem appeared in some of my earlier print comics, but he wasn't slated to appear in this particular storyline. Now that he's gone, I thought it would be only fitting to find a place for him in this animal-themed storyline. Poem will be greatly missed by the whole family, but I feel like he is up there somewhere flying higher than he ever has before! I miss you Poem! I love you Pretty Bird! Be back this Monday for another exciting Boogieland strip! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! My pretty bird, Poem. Miss you!
I'm very proud of Douglas & his Dynamo teammates for a hard fought 1-0 victory in soccer this past weekend. Douglas did an excellent job at goalie, making sure nothing got past him the whole game! & his monster punts gave his teammates some great field position to work w/! Way to go #5! Great job Dynamo! I have to agree w/Roxie that Sawsquatch might have trouble playing badminton, but I could see where he might be an excellent soccer goalie! Be back this Thursday for more Boogieland excitement! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading!
Happy Birthday Charlie Chaplin! I celebrated Charlie Chaplin's birthday today by watching some of my favorite Chaplin moments from his classic movies. I might also kick someone in the butt in Chaplin's honor before the day is over. Or maybe not. Chaplin is one of my favorite movie stars of all time & I've always enjoyed watching his films. Be back this Monday for another exciting Boogieland or Bust adventure! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! My son Douglas & I are two disks in to the three disc The Best of Sting DVD. Although the way they used Sting's head to represent the I in the title it looks more to me like it says The Best of Stong. I guess that's being picky though. We will also have to get the Sting DVD that TNA recently released so we can have the complete story. Sting is one of my all time favorites, although Boogie Woogie will always be the #1 wrestler in my heart! Boogie doesn't appear in today's strip, but his dog, Roxie, sure does! Be back tomorrow for more fun & excitement w/the BWC animals! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! The weekend is almost here! In fact, you can technically call today Friday Eve! So Happy Friday Eve & have a wonderful weekend! Be sure to check back here when your weekend is over for another Boogieland or Bust comic strip to brighten your Monday! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading!
I hope you had a nice Easter. I had to work 10 hours of my Easter, but the other 14 hours of it were nice! I'm excited about today's strip because it's the debut of another new character! The real life version of this character made her 'debut' in my family just before Christmas as an early present for my son Douglas. Welcome Poe, the puppy, to the Boogieland adventure! You have certainly made our real lives more adventurous! Be back this Thurs. for more fun w/Poe in the 'Street Animals' storyline! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Here's the real Poe, having fun in the snow!
I hope you all had a nice April Fool's Day & did more fooling than getting fooled. My son Douglas & I had fun w/it, but after the first trick we really couldn't fool each other the rest of the day. I was brave & hid my wife's coffee in the morning but I made sure I was right there to give it back to her as soon as she noticed it was missing. I don't have a death wish after all! It's no April Fool's when I say that today's strip is the conclusion of the 'My Brother From Mother Russia' storyline. Thanks again to Nikolai & Jason for agreeing to be in the comic! It sure was fun! Be back this Monday for another new Boogieland storyline! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading!
