Boogieland or Bust! #508 - Family, pt. 8

Well, this is the final strip in the very special 'Family' storyline. A big thank you to Handsome Jimmy, Blade & Kool for being a part of the fun! It was so nice meeting Handsome, Kool & Blade during their recent visit w/Boogie. I love the picture we took at Steve Cooper's Misty Mountain Wares shop in Rocky Mount, VA. One big happy family! You can see the picture of all of us below. It's no secret that many of these Boogieland adventures are inspired by things Boogie has said in interviews. Today's strip is extra special though because I have included dialog which is taken almost word for word from my all time favorite Jimmy Valiant interview. Welcome to Autumn! Today is the second day of the fall season & I really love this time of year. The weather feels great & the trees are beautiful in my neck of the woods. Once the leaves start changing to the beautiful fall colors it makes the scenery on a trip to BWC even more beautiful. Drive out to BWC any Sunday this fall & see what I mean! Well, I don't plan on turning this into the weekly Fantasy Football update, but since that's what's new in my life right now, I will quickly mention that this week didn't go much better for me than last week. Fortunately, thanks to a great game by Torrey Smith, I still have a chance to win this week if Andrew Luck has an excellent game tonight, which he often does & sometimes he doesn't. Either way I'm having fun w/it. The NFL regular season is here & that means Fantasy Football is here too! I had a rough Fantasy Football week the first week, but at least my team wasn't the lowest scoring team in my league! Yesterday's 23rd Annual BWC Graduation was an absolute blast! Boogie & Angel sure know how to throw a party! Congratulations to all the deserving graduates of 2015 & also to new instructor Jamey & new staff members Johnny & Betty! Special thanks to Colonel Howard for all he does for BWC! Douglas, Moviestar & I had a wonderful time & we can't wait for next year! Fortunately we don't have to wait, because every Sunday, from Noon to 4pm is always a party at BWC! It was really nice meeting Handsome Jimmy & his sons Kool & Blade during their recent visit to camp. My son Douglas aka Lil' MM aka Little Big Man had a lot of fun spending time w/Blade & Kool playing in the ring & drawing on the benches. Check out the picture below of Kool, Blade & Douglas hanging out & being artistic. It's an honor having them as part of this current Boogieland storyline. BWC really is all about family! & speaking of BWC Family, there will be a big family reunion at this year's 23rd graduation event, this Sun., Sept. 13th from 12 noon to 4pm. Well, the big 500th comic strip has come & gone & I think it was a complete success! Thank you to everyone who made these first 500 strips possible. I'm now excited about the current storyline w/issue 501 & beyond. 500 strips was certainly a milestone worth celebrating, & something else worth celebrating is the annual BWC Graduation ceremony!
