I've had a wonderful three day weekend so far & it isn't over yet! Really looking forward to going to see my son, Douglas, play soccer today! It was a blast spending time w/our BWC Family on Sat. at County Line Mini-Mall & Cafe. Caught up w/out-of-town friends, got to see a football game w/my pal Moviestar, Douglas & some in-town friends. & saw my nephew, Scottie, who recently returned from his honeymoon. If you are in the Lynchburg, VA area this Sat. or just want to take a long road trip, then set your destination for County Line Mini Mall & Cafe! The food is always amazing, there are plenty of wonderful shops & as a rare treat this Sat., 9/28 your Boogie Woogie Man, Jimmy Valiant himself, will be set up from 7am-2pm for a special meet & greet. Take home an autograph or pick up the brand new BWC Camp t-shirt! It can be one-stop shopping right at Boogie's table for all the wrestling fans on your early Christmas shopping list! My nephew Scottie is a married man! Scottie was the first person I held on the first day they were born, so it's hard to believe so much time has passed. It also makes it extra special that I could be there for Scottie's big day as he married the love of his life, Megan. It was an honor to be in the wedding party & to toast the newlyweds at their reception. I can't wait to see where their adventure as husband & wife will take them! Well, my The Jimmy Valiants Fantasy Football team has a 1-1 record currently going into week 3. They had one week as an undefeated team after a big week one victory, but last week they dropped to 1-1 after a tough loss to a really good team. Hopefully I can pick up a win this week to go back to a winning record, but time will tell! It has been fun so far! I hope you are having fun reading the current Boogieland storyline! It was over 18 years ago, when the internet was in what I would consider its infancy. I had been publishing my own homemade comics for a little while already & I was searching for more people to share them w/. I fortunately stumbled onto a whole network of small press creators & ended up joining a group called Blue Plaque Publications. The co-chairmen of the BPP at that time were Steve Keeter & Jim Main. So, you can imagine the thrill I had recently to be able to arrange a first-time ever meeting w/Grim Jim Main in person when he came to town recently to visit family. It was still an hour drive for me, but well worth it to meet someone face to face who I had spent so much time of my life interacting w/through our various small-pressing efforts. It was a wonderful evening spent w/Jim & his wife Connie. It was so nice of them to take time out of their vacation to make that happen. Football season is officially back! & that means so is Fantasy Football season. My son, Douglas, got me into Fantasy Football years ago because he wanted to try it. We had a team together & it was lots of fun. Now, he has his own team & I have mine & it's extra fun when we end up playing head to head against each other! My team just so happens to be called 'The Jimmy Valiants' which is a name I've used for years now for Fantasy & also for my March Madness brackets. Had such a blast at the 27th annual BWC Graduation Ceremony! It was a complete success as always! Great turnout of students, staff & fans both long time & brand new! So nice seeing everyone & spending a beautiful day celebrating the new graduates. Congratulations to the class of 2019! & congrats also to this year's new instructors Capt. Joe & Noah James. The Captain is one of the best managers to ever come out of BWC. He fits in perfectly w/the long list of great managers who have accompanied Boogie to the ring in his legendary career. The posthumous honor for Noah is well deserved as he taught us all so much by example w/his hard work, passion & determination. Every BWC student who ever had the privilege to share a ring w/Noah went away a better wrestler because of it. A big thank you to our special guests from New England... Knux, Elizabeth & Jeff!
