I proudly present to you the milestone 500th Boogieland Comic Strip! Today's comic is an extra-special, quintuple-sized, five page strip! Each time I reach a new milestone w/this comic strip, I look back & can't believe how long this project has been running. Thank you so much Boogie & Angel for giving me the chance to do this ongoing comic project all about BWC! Boogie's Wrestling Camp is one of the most special places I've ever been to & I'm so thankful to be a part of it! A big thank you also to every one of the BWC Family members who have joined in the fun by lending their characters to the big adventure! & a proactive thank you to all those who will join the fun in the future either as a character in one of the storylines or as a faithful reader. Well, that's the end of the 'Treasure of Captain Joe' storyline. Special thanks again to Captain Joe for being a part of the Boogieland fun! You may be wondering what in the world a 'BWC Wooden Fish' is. Over the past ten or so years, I've made many, many wonderful visits to camp, so you'd think I'd have already seen all the cool things displayed at BWC. Well, during my recent trip to camp for the big Birthday Bash, I noticed something there that I had never seen before. Three cool looking fish carved out of wood hanging on the side of one of the buildings. I was instantly mesmerized by these super cool little fish that had somehow escaped my notice all these years. I knew immediately that there was something very special about them so I just had to incorporate them into the current story. I don't know where they really came from, but I plan on giving my own comic strip origin story for them in the very special, extra long, milestone 500th Boogieland or Bust comic strip this Monday. Hard to believe we are almost there already! You won't want to miss it! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! It was so nice meeting Boogie's son Handsome Jimmy & his boys Kool & Blade during their visit to BWC this past weekend. I know it meant a lot to Boogie & Angel to be able to spend time w/them. It was really nice having the chance to go to dinner w/Boogie, Handsome, Kool, Blade, Janice, my son Douglas & my wife Gala. You can see a great moment from that dinner in the video below which was shot by Janice. Douglas & Blade were both celebrating a recent birthday & they got a special surprise! Speaking of birthdays, I'd like to wish a very Happy Birthday to BWC's own Nightmare. I hope your dreams come true today (or nightmares if that's more appropriate!) Have an excellent day! Be sure to check back here this Thursday to see what happens next in the 'Captain Joe' storyline! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Wow! Where did the summer vacation go? It's a sad day for me as my son Douglas goes back to school today. I will miss getting to spend the extra time w/him, but at the same time I am very proud of him & I know he will do a great job in the 4th grade just like he always has done in school. I'm looking forward to hearing all about his day when I pick him up this afternoon. Douglas' tenth birthday is this Saturday, which again makes me wonder where the time has gone, but it has been a wonderful decade & I'm very thankful to be his Dad! It looks like things are beginning to 'liven' up in the current storyline! Be back this Monday to see what happens next! Don't miss it! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading!
This year's Tomato Festival was a complete success! There was something for everyone, even if you don't like tomatoes! I was very impressed w/all the wonderful artwork in Mike Mars' wrestling themed art show. The corn on the cob was amazing & it was nice as always to spend time w/Boogie & Angel & the rest of my BWC Family! Can't wait for more tomato fun next year! Douglas & I had an absolute blast yesterday at BWC & K&W for the annual BWC Birthday Bash! It was so nice to celebrate w/our BWC Family. The party was primarily to celebrate Boogie & Angel's August birthdays, but all the August BWC birthdays were remembered on the cake. In his typical inclusive fashion, Boogie made sure to note that it was really a celebration of the entire BWC Family. & that is exactly what it was. Speaking of cake, they say you can't have your cake & eat it too, but at this party you kind of could, since there was one awesome cake at BWC & another awesome cake at the restaurant. Thanks so much to American Assassin & Bonnie for providing the cake at BWC & to Nightmare & Kat for providing the cake at the restaurant. They were both delicious! Be back this Thursday for the next exciting installment in the 'Captain Joe' storyline! Don't miss it! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Happy National Jimmy Valiant Day! It's a special day in Boogieland as Jimmy Valiant celebrates his 73rd birthday! I hope you have the best birthday yet, Boogie! I can't wait to celebrate w/Boogie, Angel & all the August BWC birthday people this Sunday at camp & at the annual birthday bash at K&W in Salem, VA directly after camp. It'll be a blast as always! Be back this Monday for another exciting Boogieland or Bust comic strip! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free!
