Happy Groundhog Day Eve! Well, this is it. Not really any warning, but I've planned it this way for a while. This is the final Boogieland comic strip. I did Boogieland or Bust for 9 years mostly on Mondays & Thursdays, but also other days on occasion. Then over a year of doing Boogieland Below for a total of 10 years or technically now over a decade of Boogieland comic strips! That is a significant part of my life for sure & it's been a wonderful experience & a true honor to be able to do a comic strip about my all-time favorite wrestler, Jimmy Valiant & his Boogie's Wrestling Camp & the whole BWC Family. In that entire time, over ten years, more than a decade, I have never once missed a deadline & always, every time published the comic strip on time for whatever the advertised schedule was. I am super proud of that fact. I definitely couldn't have done it w/out the help of my mom, Faye, who helped so much in various different ways. I also couldn't have done it w/out the patience of my wife, Gala, & my son, Douglas, who were so understanding & supportive while I was working to get the comic strip done for each new day. & it wouldn't have been possible at all w/out the blessing & support of Boogie & Angel & the many real life BWC Family Members who asked to be a part of the fun in comic strip form! Thank you all so much! It is greatly appreciated! The schedule varied from Mon., Thurs., to adding Sat. & sometimes even daily. Boogieland Below specifically was Monday's only. So that means every single Monday w/out fail for the past decade & more, I have posted a Boogieland comic strip online for all to enjoy. Next Monday will be the first Monday in over ten years that I won't post a Boogieland comic strip as part of my day. I'm sure that will feel weird, but I feel the Boogieland strips have run their course & it's time to bring the comic strip series to a close. That's not to say I won't do other comics in the future w/Boogieland in the title, but as far as this 10 year stretch it is now complete. As far as Boogieland Below specifically, there were some self-imposed guidelines that I made sure to adhere to for the full run. First of all, there were never any human characters in the whole story. Some were mentioned, but all the characters you saw were either animals or monsters of some kind. No humans. Also, each story like I said before was published on a Monday. That was the only day any of the Below strips were published. Also each storyline from beginning to end of the run were all holiday themed. I covered various different holidays, but there was never a storyline that didn't have a holiday theme. I also personally think it's cool that I started & ended Boogieland or Bust w/a Christmas storyline & I started & ended Boogieland Below also w/a Christmas storyline. It's my favorite holiday & Boogie's too, so it just seemed appropriate. Thank you all so much for reading & I have to give an extra special thank you for reading to my mom, Faye for reading every single comic strip in the entire run. I would hope she's not the only one who read every single comic strip, all 1,171 of them, but I know for a fact that by far she left the most comments! Thanks for that, Mom, & thanks for everything! When I do start another project related to BWC & it's wonderful cast of characters, I will be sure to announce it & post it right here on the official Jimmy Valiant website. Until then, thank you again so much for reading! It is greatly appreciated! Take care.

Well, the Super Bowl match-up is set. Chiefs vs Buccaneers. If one of those is your team then best of luck. I'm thankful to have seen my team, the Broncos, win three Super Bowls, but hopefully I will see them get #4 someday! I'm looking forward to watching the big game. As far as my The Jimmy Valiants Playoff Challenge fantasy football team, they are currently ranked #763 in the league I am in. That may sound like a pretty low ranking at first, but considering there are 9,579 teams in that league, The Jimmy Valiants are at least near the top percentage of teams, so I'm very happy w/that. We'll find out soon where we end up once the big game is done. Be back next Monday for a very special Boogieland Below! Thanks for reading! Take care.
The Fantasy Football season is over, but The Jimmy Valiants have new life in the form of the Playoff Challenge. Not quite the same as a standard Fantasy Football team, but same general idea. I'll keep everyone posted on how we do! The song has been written (& performed) but the Christmas storyline continues next week! Be back next Monday! Thanks for reading! Take care.
Had a nice weekend. Spent a lot of time w/family. That's always nice. Weather was good. Got some stuff done. Back to work tomorrow, but I love my job so that's not bad either. It may be 11 days into the New Year, but below Boogieland, it's still Christmas time as the Christmas themed storyline continues! Be back next Monday for more! Thanks for reading! Take care.
Happy New Year! Welcome to the first Boogieland comic of 2021! I hope you are having a nice year so far! I had a nice New Year's Eve & a nice New Year's Day! It was especially nice spending the first day of the year w/Boogie & Captain Joe, as as well as Gala & Douglas of course! The final Fantasy Football report for the season for The Jimmy Valiants brings the disappointing news of a tough loss in the Fantasy Super Bowl. But, looking on the bring side, we finished the season a respectable 2nd place & still ended w/the leagues best record of 14-2. Happy w/the success we had & it was a really fun season! I hope you enjoy some remaining Christmas spirit as the Christmas themed storyline continues! Thanks for reading! Take care.
I had a wonderful Christmas! I hope you did too! Spent quality time w/family, ate amazing food & got some cool stuff. This is the last comic strip of 2020 then it's on to the new year! I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating on New Year's Eve as we get ready for a whole new year 2021. One thing to finish up first for me is Fantasy Football. My team, The Jimmy Valiants, got a big playoff win to advance to the Fantasy Super Bowl which is going on as I type this. I'll report next week how the season turned out. The new year may be nigh upon us but the Christmas storyline continues right back here next week. See you then! Thanks for reading! Take care!
I'm pleased to announce that my The Jimmy Valiants Fantasy Football Team are the Regular Season Champions in my league, after finishing w/a nigh undefeated 13-1 record! Now it's on to the playoffs! I'll keep you posted on how things go. The big news this week is we are very close to Christmas day! I've had really nice Christmas celebrations w/family two weekends in a row, so that has been wonderful. & I'm now on Christmas Vacation so it will be great to have more time to celebrate & enjoy the season w/my loved ones! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! & a happy new year too, but I will hopefully see you back here before the new year, a week from today for another new Boogieland comic strip where the Christmas fun will continue in the current Christmas themed storyline! Thanks for reading! Take care.
Be back next Monday for another Boogieland Below comic as this Christmas storyline continues. Thanks for reading. It's hard to talk about much today, other than saying it was a very hard day yesterday, as my Uncle Earl passed away. I'm very thankful for the time I had w/him & for the ways he influenced my life for the better, the same way he did for so many. He will be missed. I'll dedicate today's comic to him. He always liked to laugh & had a wonderful sense of humor. Rest in peace, Uncle Earl. I love you! Take care everyone.
Ten years ago today I posted the very first ever Boogieland comic strip. Now here we are ten years later celebrating a decade of Boogieland strips! First there was 9 years of Boogieland Or Bust. They were traditionally published every Monday & Thursday until I eventually added a third day on Sat. & occasionally posted it as a daily comic strip. 1,111 total strips & I never once missed a deadline. Every day a strip was advertised to be posted it was posted. W/out exception. & now I've done an entire year of Boogieland Below comic strips on a Monday only schedule for a full year, w/out missing a single Monday. So that means on every single Monday for the last ten years, w/out fail, I've posted a Boogieland comic strip on the official Jimmy Valiant website. That's pretty cool! If you can't tell, I'm very proud of that accomplishment & all the hard work it took. It seemed like a good idea to do this stand alone, one-shot comic strip Boogieland BONUS on the actual 10 year anniversary & for the record, this comic strip was also published on time w/out missing the day it was advertised to be posted. I am incredibly thankful for everyone who had a part in helping me in any way w/this strip over the last ten years. My mom, Faye, helped in so many ways & she was a faithful reader reading every single Boogieland comic strip published in the last decade. That's a lot of comics! She has also been so supportive & encouraging this entire time! Thanks Mom! Thanks to everyone who agreed to be a character & join in the Boogieland fun! Thank you so much to my wife, Gala, & my son, Douglas, for being understanding while I was working on a strip to make sure it went out to the Boogieland fans in a timely manner. I'm thankful also for all of their encouragement. Thank you to everyone who read even one strip or all of them! Thank you so much for reading! & I owe a very big & heartfelt thank you to Boogie & Angel for allowing me the opportunity to tell these wonderful tales centered around the real life Boogie's Wrestling Camp! Or as I like to call it, Boogieland! Thank you so much Boogie & Angel for all that you do! I look forward to continuing to post these Boogieland comics into the new year, but I just wanted to take a moment or so to commemorate this amazing milestone! Be back this Monday as the Boogieland Below Christmas storyline continues! Thank you so much for reading! Take care!
I hope you had a really nice weekend! I had a truly wonderful time hanging out w/Boogie & Capt. Joe at Country Line Mini-Mall & Cafe on Saturday. We started our Christmas celebration a little early w/a delicious breakfast & a Christmas toast. It's always a pleasure spending time w/my BWC brothers! Also on Sat. I watched a live stream of my son, Douglas, playing in both the JV & Varsity high school basketball games. He played great! We are so proud of him! Saturday night & Sunday morning I watched a really good movie w/my wife, Gala. Also talked on the phone to my mom, Faye, so you can't beat that! My The Jimmy Valiants Fantasy Football team improved to 11-1 officially last week & this week's my opponent has one player left & needs to get about 70 points to beat me, so I feel fairly confident about going to 12-1 on the season. Still #1 in the league & if I do win this week it will guarantee that win or lose next week I will finish the regular season in my league's top spot! I've never done that before in all my time of playing fantasy football, so that would be a huge accomplishment! Speaking of major accomplishments, this coming Wed., 12/9 will mark exactly 10 years of doing Boogieland comics! I did 9 years of Boogieland or Bust followed by one year of Boogieland Below & on the actual 10th anniversary I will do a special, one shot Boogieland Bonus comic strip to commenorate the special occasion! Then it will be right back here next Monday as this current Christmas Boogieland storyline continues! Thanks for reading! Take care!
