Wrestling lost a great star & BWC lost a dear family member when Hugh "Shorty" Meador passed away recently. Better known to his fans & friends as Tiny Bell, he was well loved by Boogie, Angel & everyone at the camp. He received an honorary degree from BWC in 2008. For me personally, it was always nice to walk into the main camp building & see Tiny Bell sitting there w/his beautiful family. He always made me feel welcome & was a pleasure to talk to. I treasure the 8x10 autographed photo that I got from Tiny Bell when he was a special honored guest at one of the annual Springtime Bash shows in Shawsville, VA. I love that picture because I feel it really embodies the greatness of that classic wrestling era that he was a part of. The last time I saw Tiny Bell was at a wrestling show in Rocky Mount, VA where I had the honor of introducing him to my son Douglas. Douglas was excited to meet another Hall of Fame pro wrestler. I was also honored to have Tiny Bell appear in my Mistaken Liberty short film. Now we know Tiny Bell is in that big wrestling ring in the sky. He joins another dear family member, Ray Pendleton, who graduated BWC in 2006 & left us way too soon at the age of 31. Neither man will be forgotten at BWC. Tiny Bell was a true legend & more importantly a great man. He will be missed.

Today I got a moment to look in on Boogie Jam Online. What I saw just floored me and now there is a grown man sitting here crying. Tiny Bell not only was, but is a friend. Tiny Bell may have been small in statue, but he had a heart bigger than Andre The Giant and the Big Show combined. RIP Brother. You were one of the best. Both in and out of the ring. BWC and the rest of the world lost a true legend, a great humanitarian, and a wonderful human being. You will be greatly missed My Friend.
