The last time I was at BWC was on January 17th. 10th Floor Productions was there shooting a pilot for a new reality show about the camp. While I was there, Boogie took me around the main camp building & showed me several wonderful drawings of professional wrestling stars from the past & present. The drawings were all taken from the covers of Georgiann Makropoulos’ long running, world famous Wrestling Chatterbox Newsletter. Boogie’s enthusiasm was obvious as he showed me the pictures & I knew in that moment that he thought the world of Georgiann & that she was very special to him. There was no way we could have known that just a very short time later, this great wrestling journalist & Boogie’s dear friend would be gone. Jimmy has asked me to share his thoughts about Georgiann on this website w/the following statement:

Whenever I reminisce on the pleasures life had brought me in professional wrestling, I always begin with thoughts of Georgie.
I first met this special lady in 1970 in New York City. Georgie could never do enough for anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. I always kept in touch with this dear sweet lady no matter where I was working.
When Angel and I opened Boogie’s Wrestling Camp Hall of Fame Museum in Shawsville, VA in September of 1992 she was first to offer her services to help publicize it. Later, BWC was advertised in her outstanding Chatterbox wrestling newsletter for years.
I will always have a special place in my heart for Georgiann Makropoulos. She will be missed by all who knew her. God Bless her family and friends. Love you, Georgie.
