Well, things didn't turn out quite like I wanted this week for my The Jimmy Valiants fantasy football team. Even though the game isn't officially over, all my players have played & my opponent has a couple players left who can add points to their already decent lead. The sliver lining to all that is my opponent this week is my son, Douglas. Good job, Douglas, on a hard fought victory! I'm proud of you, but remember, we play each other again so be ready for the rematch! Be back this Thurs. for more Boogieland or Bust excitement! Sweet victory! I'm happy to announce that my The Jimmy Valiant's fantasy football team notched it's first win of the season! The Jimmy Valiant's are now 1-1 & have a chance at a winning record w/another big win this weekend! Here's hoping! Be back this Mon. for another Boogieland or Bust comic strip! So I think I mentioned previously that Fantasy Football season is once more upon us. & that means I once again have a The Jimmy Valiants fantasy team. The JVs suffered a tough loss last week, but at least I was second in points in the entire league so that's something. This week is still not over, but is looking good for a possible Jimmy Valiants victory. All my players are done for the week & I am up by about 25 points. My opponent has one player left, Brandon Marshall, who is projected about 6 or so points. Marshall only got 1 point last week, so that helps my confidence, but at the same time, projections can sometimes be way off if a player has an awesome game. I've certainly won & lost that way a time or two myself. For those of you unfamiliar w/Fantasy Football, this might not make a lot of sense. I will be sure to give an update this Thurs. reporting either a great victory or a crushing come from behind defeat. Plus there will be another Boogieland comic strip! How's that for a cliffhanger? See you then! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or any Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care!
So this is the comic strip that almost wasn't. BOB #715 came close at one point to not ever existing. There was a time a little while back where I was feeling a little stuck for ideas for the Boogieland strip & I thought maybe I should start thinking about bringing it to a close. The seven hundreds were still a little ways away at the time but I figured if I could hold out until then it might be fitting to have the series end w/strip #714 since Boogie had the famous song 714. Fortunately, that was just a passing thought & my creativity has since been at least temporarily rejuvenated. I of course made sure to reference the 714 song in BOB #714 on Monday, but the Boogieland or Bust strip will keep rolling well into the future as I already have several great story ideas that I just can't wait to get to. Thanks so much for reading! Be back this Mon. as the Home Away From Homecoming storyline continues!
