Happy Memorial Day! I'm very thankful for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect this country. Thank you to all those who continue to risk everything to fight for freedom. I'm very proud of my son, Douglas, for playing hard in his first NFL Flag Football game. He played different positions on both sides of the ball, but when he had a turn at quarterback in the 2nd half he threw two awesome touchdown passes! I've included a video of the first TD pass below for your viewing enjoyment! Way to go Douglas! Let's go Steelers! Be back this Thursday for more Boogieland fun as the World Gone Mad storyline continues! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or I Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. We have lots of fun things already planned, plus I'm sure plenty more unexpected adventures will take place along the way. I can't wait! Speaking of adventure, is the World Gone Mad adventure over w/the defeat of MM's evil tie or is the real battle only beginning? Find out this Monday in the next Boogieland comic strip! Have an awesome weekend! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or I Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! It was really nice meeting AFP Photojournalist Brendan Smialowski yesterday at BWC. I can't wait to see how his pictures turned out! You can check out some of his fine work on his official website. Thanks for making the trip Brendan! The weather was beautiful & it was a nice day w/the BWC Family. Great seeing Big Thunder back at camp yesterday. I hope you enjoyed today's comic strip featuring much more of The Helper. Much like Magnet Man, The Helper was a character I created when I was just a kid. I actually still have a couple quick strips I did of The Helper's adventures back then. Maybe I will post them on this site if I can unearth them from the archives before this storyline is over. Be back this Thursday for the next installment! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or I Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. The school year is almost over & summertime is getting very close! Only 7 more school days left for Douglas before Summer Vacation! Exciting! He had swimming lessons today & is learning the butterfly. He'll be ready to go when the pool opens! Fun times! The Helper is here, but is he here to help or is his name deceiving? Be back this Monday to find out more about The Helper in the next exciting installment in the World Gone Mad storyline! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or I Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care!
As I type this, I am watching Jay Lethal vs AJ Styles for the ROH World Title. Great match so far! Douglas has his last soccer game & his first flag football practice both on the same day today, one right after the other due to rescheduling due to bad weather. He's a tough kid though, he can handle it! Not sure if MM & Boogie can handle the deadly situation they've found themselves in! Be back this Thursday to see what happens next as the World Gone Mad storyline continues! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or I Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care!

This past Thursday, when I put up the strip for the day, I wrote a special tribute to my Grandma Lois who was sick in the hospital. It is w/great sadness that I announce today that she passed away the next night. I am happy that she is no longer suffering & is now forever at peace, but it is still a very difficult, painful loss for my entire family. Grandma was such an amazing person & such an important part of our family. She will be greatly missed! We love you Grandma! & on a more cheerful note, the Valiant Cup/Parker Cup weekend was a complete success! If you weren't able to make it this year, be sure to make your plans early for next year. & if you did come out to one or both of the events, thank you so much for joining in the fun & supporting the camp! Below you will find a picture of Boogie & MM fighting MM's evil tie in Elkin at the Valiant Cup show. You just never know where a 'madness possessed' tie might show up next, looking to cause trouble! I hope you enjoyed today's nod to Zod, as I did my best tip of the hat to the 'Trial of Zod' scene from Superman II. Be back this Thursday for the next exciting installment in the 'World Gone Mad' storyline! I highly recommend a visit to the real Boogieland in person this Sunday or I Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm. Admission is free! Click HERE for more info. Thanks for reading! Take care! Boogie & MM do battle w/MM's tie!
I have so many great memories of time spent w/my Grandma. Grandma's house was where we had all our family Christmases. & all the other major family gatherings too for that matter. Her kitchen always smelled wonderful & you can imagine her food was amazing! She had the best desserts too. She fixed amazing cherry milkshakes & always had containers full of cookies & other treats. But probably my favorite was just a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream w/chocolate syrup. Yum! It may sound like a simple thing, but I have such fond memories of just sitting in Grandma's living room watching TV w/family. She always had paper & pencils to draw w/& always encouraged me to practice my drawing. I never got that good at it, but it certainly helped to cultivate the creativity from which all of these Boogieland stories are born. She also had a big book full of Peanuts comic strips which I read over & over. It's really hard to think of anything better in the world that sitting on Grandma's front porch on a warm summer night, looking up at the stars & enjoying the company of loved ones. So many great memories of Grandma's house. The woodstove in winter, the toys for the kids to play w/, spending the night, taking walks, talking, looking at pictures in photo albums, her smile, her kindness & her love. I could go on all day. My Grandma is a very special person, full of love & kindness & warmth & generosity. So of course it's hard to see her in a hospital bed, not feeling very well at all. But she is a very tough person, so if anyone can come back from this, she can. All I can do is hope & pray & I've certainly been doing a lot of both in the last couple of days. Thank you for everything you've done for me and our family Grandma! Thank you for who you are. I love you so much, Grandma!
