I spend way too much time on YouTube. The vast majority of that time is spent watching Jimmy Valiant footage. I've seen every single Jimmy Valiant related video currently on YouTube at least once & some I have watched over & over. Like I said, I spend way too much time on there, but it is certainly time well spent! Not all that long ago, a routine search for new Boogie footage came back w/a special sneak peek from an in the works documentary by Michael Elliott. Since then Mr. Elliott has posted several more sneak peeks featuring several wrestling legends who played a part in Valiant's historic career. This Sunday, March 13th, Michael & his film crew come to BWC itself to get even more footage for the big project. I personally can't wait to be a part of this special event. I'm looking forward to helping out in any way I can as I watch the project come together from behind the scenes. I highly recommend making the trip this Sunday for the documentary filming & to experience everything that BWC has to offer each & every week on Sunday from 12 noon to 4pm. Hope to see you there!

It's hard to believe that today marks the one year anniversary of the debut of my Boogie Jam Online website. I used to come to the original www.jimmyvaliant.weebly.com all the time to check out what was new & cool with Boogie, Angel & BWC. It was an awesome website. Then the original webmaster Cindy decided to move on for personal reasons & she was gracious enough to give me her blessing to use the Weebly address for my site, which I like to call Boogie Jam Online! My mom Faye & I worked very hard to get everything ready & then we launched our all new version of the site on January 27th, 2010. It has been a quick year, but I have had so much fun along the way. Boogie, Angel & the camp all have a very special place in my heart, so this site has been, & will always be, a labor of love. I'm so thankful for the opportunity, responsibility & true honor that Boogie & Angel have bestowed upon me. I am also thankful to my mother for all that she has done & continues to do to make this site what it is today. I look forward to running this site for many years to come & I hope that Boogie fans everywhere will find it an entertaining, informative & just plain fun place to be. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit this site over the past year. Please come back again soon & often!
Take care! Cordially, Brien I would like to wish everyone reading this a very Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for Boogie, Angel & my entire BWC Family! I am thankful that a cool place like Boogie's Wrestling Camp exists and that I can go there any Sunday from 12 noon to 4pm. I am thankful to be able to be the webmaster of this website dedicated to the camp & my all time favorite wrestler, Jimmy Valiant. & I am very thankful for everyone who has taken the time to visit this site. Jimmy Valiant has certainly had some historic Thanksgiving memories as part of several Starrcade events. On the first ever Starrcade he put on the Charlie Brown From Outta Town mask & took the TV Title after making a turkey out of The Great Kabuki. At a later Starrcade he gave new meaning to the term 'Thanksgiving trimmings' by shaving the head of his hated enemy, Paul Jones. For a wealth of information on the rich history of Mid-Atlantic wrestling on Thanksgiving night, check out this wonderful presentation over at the Mid-Atlantic Gateway site by clicking HERE. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving enjoying everything that you are thankful for! Thank you for being a part of our Boogie Jam Online family!
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to BWC this past Sunday, Oct. 31st for the big premiere of my short film, Magnet Man Meets Bigfoot! The event was a complete success & I feel like everyone in attendance had a wonderful time. How could you not at BWC?! It was really satisfying to watch the movie w/an audience after having worked so hard on the project for the past two years. It was at a Halloween wrestling show, two years earlier, that Boogie had first suggested I do a movie featuring a meeting between Magnet Man & Bigfoot. After two years of planning & hard work by myself and so many others, the film is a reality. Thank you so much to everyone who helped out in the making of this movie in any way. & a special thank you to those who supported the cause by picking up a copy of the DVD. I hope it will bring you hours of enjoyment. The next step will be to get the movie online to be enjoyed by anyone who would like to see it. Look for that soon, right here on this very site! You can also click HERE to enjoy the first two Magnet Man Minimovies any time you need a laugh. Halloween is right around the corner & I've decided to celebrate this fun holiday w/a compilation of some of Boogie's most fearsome foes, frightening friends, & monsterous moments. I hope it gets you in a spooky Halloween mood! This is a brutal battle for the NWA TV Title with Boogie pitted against the evil lumberjack Jos Leduc & his creepy manager Sir Oliver Humperdink. I think Boogie's radio may have been the biggest casualty in this one! Boogie has revenge on his mind as he teams up w/the rough & tough Dory Funk Jr to take on the mean, menacing, masked Assassins. Boogie teams up w/a true mat monster, King Kong Bundy! Jimmy Valiant's good friend Charlie Brown against the always spooky Great Kabuki at the first ever Starrcade for the TV Title! Boogie does a scary promo that is sure to frighten Paul Jones & his army! & if that great footage isn't spooky enough for you, go check out these great comics which feature Boogie doing battle w/a Werewolf & Frankenstein's Monster! Happy Halloween everybody!
On September 12th, 2010, Boogie's Wrestling Camp celebrated its 18th Annual Graduation Ceremony. The camp was packed as students past, present & future converged on one of the coolest places on the planet, bringing family, friends & loved ones w/them to share in the day's festivities. Several deserving students received their degrees as reward for working hard all year to learn their craft & hone their skills. In addition to that, all of Boogie & Angel's children received special honorary degrees, as did wrestling stars Bill & Jamie Dundee & a select handful of other worthy recipients including our own Magnet Man. After the big ceremony, several matches were held to showcase the talented new graduates & their proud BWC instructors. Big Dave House & Robbie Lynn had the honor of being named the camp's newest instructors. Big Dave did an outstanding job of starting this year's ceremony w/the National Anthem. It was a great day that will long be remembered fondly by all who attended. I can't wait to watch this year's graduates as they go out into the wrestling world to make a name for themselves. Congratulations to the entire BWC Graduating Class of 2010 & best of luck to the brand new class of 2011! & a special thank you to Boogie & Angel for making it all happen! BWC CLASS OF 2010! Every year, Boogie's Wrestling Camp produces some of the finest pro wrestlers in the word. After being trained by Boogie & his select staff of instructors, BWC's students are ready to take the wrestling world by storm & excel in their chosen path. This Sunday, September 12th, another top notch batch of professional wrestlers will be unleased when BWC celebrates its 18th Annual Graduation Ceremony. All of the students in this graduating class have worked very hard to achieve this milestone & should be proud of their great accomplishment. Boogie, Angel & the Class of 2010 welcome you to come out to share this special day at BWC. Boogie & Angel also hand out a select number of honorary degrees each year. This year's honorary degree recipients include Memphis Wrestling legend Bill Dundee & his son Jamie Dundee. Jamie is perhaps best known to wrestling fans as JC Ice of the PG 13 Tag Team. The Valiant's will also honor their children w/an honorary degree as well as a handful of others. I look forward to attending graduation each year, but I am especially excited this year to be recieving my own honorary degree. If you've ever been to the camp you will know that banners listing the graduating classes from each year hang proudly & prominently on all four of the main camp building walls. It will be a thrill & an honor for me to look up on the 2010 banner & see my name. I hope you all will make a point to be at BWC this Sunday, from 12 noon to 4pm, for a graduation ceremony like no other! See you there! Check out this great USWA footage of Bill Dundee vs. Mean Mark Callus. Be sure to come to BWC's 18th Annual Graduation Ceremony this Sunday, September 12th, from Noon-4pm to see Bill Dundee in person as he accepts his honorary degree.
This was the big final show of the season for Main Event Thursday, & thanks to this week's guest, CW Anderson, the season went out w/a bang! This extreme wrestling star from the original ECW began the show w/the touching story of the time he asked Jimmy Valiant to pay a special visit to his brother who was in the hospital battling cancer. It is a truly inspirational story as his brother went on to defy the odds by making a complete recovery. CW went on to discuss topics such as living up to the Anderson name & the advice that Arn Anderson gave him, the people he most liked to be around backstage, & how his baseball past helped him perfect his Spinebuster finisher. He also commented on his battles with the unpredictable Terry Funk in the MLW federation as a member of the Extreme Horsemen, the importance of giving your all for the fans, & much more. Angel announced Boogie's upcoming appearances & once again invited everyone to come out to BWC Graduation 2010 on September 12th from Noon to 4pm. The gang said their goodbyes to each other & to the fans before Boogie took us out one more time as only he can. See you all next summer for Season Three!
After having to postpone her guest gig by a week due to an unavoidable scheduling conflict, Babydoll proved that she was well worth the wait as she joined Boogie & the gang for week 12 of Main Event Thursday. Topics of discussion included the first time she met Jimmy Valiant & what she thought of his outfit, the possibility of her daughter continuing in the family business, the cage match she wrestled in at the Great American Bash, love at first sight, Austin-Hall cowboy boots, her current favorite stars in the independent wrestling scene, keeping in touch w/Tully & Dusty & much more. She also gave the info on her official MySpace & Facebook sites. Angel announced Boogie's upcoming appearance dates including this year's BWC Graduation on Sunday, September 12th from 12-4pm. Boogie announced next week's guest as ECW star CW Anderson! This week's Main Event will actually take place a day early on Wednesday, August 25th, from 5pm-6pm, so be sure not to miss it. & be sure to call 1-888-639-4900 to ask
CW Anderson a question live on the air for the big final Main Event show of the season! When I was a kid, I used to love to play the Donkey Kong arcade game in the front lobby of our local department store. I spent quite a few of my mom's quarters trying to help Mario dodge barrels & save the pretty girl. Later, when I was dating my future wife, we would spend hours in the basement of her mother's house playing Super Mario 3 on the Nintendo. These days, my son Douglas plays any number of video games which feature the Mario character. So you can imagine it was quite a thrill for us to meet the real Super Mario live & in person recently during a family vacation. Super Mario was a wrestling star in the USWA as well as many other federations & is a member of the BWC Hall of Fame. It was great meeting Super Mario & it was neat to hear him tell stories from his wrestling career including his hilarious rendition of the 'Happy Burpday' story from Boogie's book. I was impressed w/the amount of time Super Mario took w/my four year old son Douglas. He taught Douglas a wrestling hold, gave him some valuable words of wisdom & even gave him a Super Mario trading card as a gift. It is easy to see why children & their parents alike aways loved Super Mario as they cheered him to victory in the ring. & Super Mario is still taking care of business in & around the squared circle as he continues to make appearances and compete in matches. In fact, he told us about being featured in an article in the Spring 2010 issue of an international publication called Video Game Traders Magazine. The print version of that particular issue was so popular that it seems to have already sold out, but a digital version is currently still available & you can also currently read the article directly online in a preview on the Video Game Traders Magazine website. Click here to go to the offical site to check out the great article on page six about Super Mario and the crossover between video games & wrestling. My wife, my son & I had a wonderful time visiting w/the namesake of one of our favorite video game characters & we are collectively looking forward to seeing him again. Thanks Super Mario! |
